Note that the received light level is highly depending on the angle of both the IR-LED and the receiver. Are these hand held devices ? And I'd expect the level to be dependent on the coulor of the walls and so on. The only "distance" you can probably measure, is that the sender is close enugh to be "seen" by the receiver... But I might have misunderstod something, I'm not realy sure what the "amplitude of the frequency transmitted" is. I read it as "amplitude of the signal received", is that right ?
