How 'bout: http://www.ssec.honeywell.com/magnetic/datasheets/hmr3100.pdf or http://www.ssec.honeywell.com/magnetic/datasheets/hmc1055.pdf Both supposed to be pretty good and fairly cheap (<$200). I assume you're planning to use this in your UAV project. I'd avoid the HMR3000, because some versions at least rely on a tilt sensor rather than an accelerometer to sense degree of tilt.
