Every manufacturer has their own way of connecting the various electrical= =20 devices in a gas tank. I'm not directly familiar with the Olds Cutlass, = but=20 for a 1980's-era american car, you should have a ground line, +12V line, = and=20 a resistive-output line from the sender. Be absolutely careful with any electrical experimentation around a fuel=20 tank!!! Especially when empty!!! A common trick is to fill it with wate= r=20 first, but I'd still be paranoid!!! I highly advocate that you contact=20 Oldsmobile instead, or buy the proper wiring diagram/manual!!! The exclamation marks are not to shout at you, but to express how strongl= y I=20 feel about working on or near a fuel tank. Cheers, -Neil.
