And how should that work ? Is your plan that the tube runing down the tank (to the bottom ?) should measure the pressure at the bottom ? That tube would have to be air filled, right ? An the tube be open at the bottom ? But that air will compress, and as the liquide fills up from the open bottom into the tube, the pressure (as measured at the top of the tube) will decrease at the same time. And if you have a leakage in that tube so the air is let out, the liquid inside the tube will raise to the same level as outside of the tube, and the measured pressure diff will be zero.
