I know it's not pressure related, but could you not mount a transceiver
inside the top of the barrel and measure the distance down to the beer
level? I'm thinking ultrasonic range-finders here, as there might be a
problem with reflectivity and IR... But I think sound-waves may bounce off
OK.. ?
