I have a 5 gallon water tank...the kind that spring water comes in for your= office water coolers. I will be filling it with various types of beer (som= e of you may remember my project) and I wish to add a level sensor so that = the control panel's LCD will show the user the % full that the tank is. I h= ave researched it a bit and came to three choices: line of IR reciever and detector pairs going up the side, each will get a s= lightly different reading when fluid is in the tank. The con of this is tha= t the % will be very limited in accuracy and different shades of beer will = require different trigger values. liquid level transducer (http://chattanooga.net/~cdp/level/level.htm) where= i'd have to measure a frequency.=20 pressure sensor inside the bottom of the tank. the more water, the more pre= ssure. This seems the easiest way so. Industrial fluid level sensors are too expensive. So does anybody have any experience or advice they can offer in using a pre= ssure sensor as a fluid level detector? I just want to hear any experiences= , good or bad. Thank you ~Rob -- http://www.piclist.com#nomail Going offline? Don't AutoReply us! email listserv@mitvma.mit.edu with SET PICList DIGEST in the body
