Hello, I've got a Wisp628 programmer that I seem to be having trouble with. I am just trying to get a simple blink the LED type program going to test my programmer/circuit (first time with PICs), and I can't seem to get the programmer to program the fuses. I am unable to change the fuse setting to allow the use of a crystal oscillator, so I set it up with an RC oscilator (5k pot with a 20 pf cap), and it seems to at least run the program as long as it's compiled for a 4 mhz clock. I guess I forgot to say that it is able to upload/download/verify the program itself just fine, but it can't program 2007 (fuses) no matter what I do. I've used both Bumblebee and Xwisp, and both give the same problem. By the way, I am trying to program a setting of 3FFE (only turn on the HS osc and leave the rest as default), but it stays programmed with 3FFF (default, as I understand it). One mre really odd thing that I've noticed, it only runs a JAL language program when the programmer is still connected to the circuit (after you give the RUN command), but a program compiled from PICAnt is able to run no matter what. This puzzles me greatly, since I can pull all the wires except either the +5 or GND and it will still run (the JAL program), so I don't see how it could be getting an OSC signal or something similar. Perhaps this points out a defect in my circuit that I am not aware of, but it does seem to work fine as far as programming code goes. Hopefully I haven't gone on too long, I just wanted to make the problem clear. Thanks a lot for any advice. _________________________________________________________________ Help STOP SPAM with the new MSN 8 and get 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail -- http://www.piclist.com hint: PICList Posts must start with ONE topic: [PIC]:,[SX]:,[AVR]: ->uP ONLY!
