The one I've been on for the last couple of weeks has had 16 logic analyser probes, two scope probes and a frequency meter thrown at it at various times. I needed to be able to see at a glance in writing what pins were hooked up. Other labels have the alternate function names or internal definitions instead of the basic I/O names.
