You might want to try the Norton System Work for your problems. They have worked very well for me so far, but have read about horror stories. Norton Clean Sweep: it tracks your new installation and will help clean up those that don't follow the rule Norton System Doctor: it help to clean the mess on your registry and others. I did backup the important stuff before using them, but no incidents so far. Re-installing was a frequent event before I used them. And after that when the system become flaky, they have come to rescue, so far (close to 2 years) I do not have to reinstall my win98 system. I think Norton will be able to sustain my system until I upgrade the PC, which bring up the need to migrate to the latest PC without the need of re-installation - Does anyone come across software can do that easily?
