Does anyone have an old version of MPLAB that they could give me a link to?
I installed windows XP on my laptop, as Win 98 was getting really flakey.
Then I upgraded to mplab version 6.30. Now I can't communicate with my
picstart plus. I have verified the programmer and cable on another system. I
want to go back to an older version of mplab to see if that would help.

them the .hex file produced by MPLAB.  Is this all that's needed?  Does the
.hex file contain the configuration fuses and EEPROM data?
