You should see the security precautions when you go to pick the stuff up at
the actual precious metal alloy supplier. (it's on the shelf in some
wholesale places, so no big deal).

You go into a little well lit and camera'd windowless room, probably with
remote-controlled electric locks on the door. The clerk on the other side
peers at you through THICK bulletproof glass, your paperwork or payment
goes through a hinged box that never allows any opening between the inside
and outside, and the material is fed back through the same box.
Similar to jewelry manufacturers.
