Look at mfg sources in rfid.org. Loads of info for off the shelf sports
timers using rfid. If you would rather roll your own, TI has a number of
products that can fit the bill; so does microchip but they only sell the
transponders and you would have to roll your own readers using their app
notes.

I am an electronic engineer quite new to RFID. I have been tasked to

investigate RFID Mat antennas for Sport event timing.

Does anybody have any pointer to technical information for the construction

of such antennas? Specifically for the 138Khz transponders

I presume it's similar to PCB antennas, but I'm looking for some practical
advice.
