Not exactly fair enough. PITA actually

Although by now I should know what to expect from a PIC, so I wonder
what the value of a sample is except a cheap way (ie free) to get one
for a prototype or one-off. Having to pay for a single PIC (when possible,
and that's a story in itself) is but a pixel in the big picture
