One big gotcha with the 16LF's: the brown-out reset feature is pretty muc= h useless, since it still trips at the 4.something volt level appropriate f= or the corresponding 16F part. (18LF's are much better in this regard, as t= he trip point is adjustable.) As for 16LF628's being cheaper than 16F628's at Digi-Key, I'm not seeing that. I think you are either comparing parts with different temparature ranges/speed grades, or comparing the large quantity price for a non-stocked part with the individual price for a stocked part.
