Here what i'm doing:

    loop
       wait 5 seconds
       change radio's channel using the radio auxiliary input to channel
9 that is used for data
       wait 1 second
       push ptt
       wait 1 second
       send data
       wait 1 second
       release ptt
       go back to channel 12 that is used for voice
       goto loop
