Hello Chris, Sounds like you were cheated, just smoke, no blown apart transformers. No burst phase correction capacitors. That's the whole objective to leaving out the fuses... Sorry to hear that your project was terminated in this fashion. I know of the expense involved having worked around power equipment for years. Lost an EMC Disk frame to bad phases in a data center that was expensive as well, but just 1 EMC frame (fuses work). Hope things improve.
