1 did you read 'jones on steppers'?
2 you can increase the torque somewhat by using two-coild exitation
(1100, 0110, 0011, 1001) instead of one-coil (1000, 0100, 0010, 0001).
3 but for real power use a current source instead of a voltage source
4 it might of course be the case that you are asking more from the
stepper than it can give, in that case step more slowly, or gear down
for more torque
5 it helps somewhat to increase the speed slowly from 0 to 'crusing
speed'
