Ken, almost forgot when I sent my reply to your questions. I looked a little bit closer and I'm using zlPortIO from=20 http://www.specosoft.com its a freeware solution that works on all versions of windows. Their are some quirks to it, but overall I have been happy with it. -----Original Message----- From: Ken Pergola [mailto:no_spam@LOCALNET.COM] Sent: Monday, July 14, 2003 9:41 AM To: PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU Subject: Re: [EE] Parallel Port Hi Jeremy, A few questions if you don't mind: 1) You've actually used the USB to Parallel port converter with = inpout.dll to twiddle bits? I've been searching high and low for this ability with USB to = Parallel port converters -- the ability to actually perform low-level writes/reads. 2) Are the data lines on this converter bidirectional? 3) How do you get the parallel port base address when the native USB = driver loads up? I appreciate your help. Thanks very much. Try the USB to Parallel port converter for $40 at your local RadioShack or many online dealers. Works great on the systems that I have found w/o a parallel port (and works with the inpout.dll) Jeremy Darling -- http://www.piclist.com#nomail Going offline?
