But since the second board works, I know it is not a problem with the design. My design is not crashing, a particular implementation of the design is crashing. > But it _is_ worth pursuing the fault, honestly, in your own=20 > time. And it's the subtle problems that you want to find=20 > _before_ they start causing symptoms. >=20 I agree completely. But this would have to be in my own time, which means I'm not getting paid for it. I'm already overtime on this project (meaning I am getting paid less and less per hour) and my customer only cares about getting working prototypes (these are research proofs of concept, not commercial products). Sometimes when you get crunched for time, you are just happy to get something working. In the back of your mind you day "later, I need to go back and investigate that further." Sometimes you do, sometimes you don't. I actually do software professionally. I am always happy when I find something that doesn't work as expected, because it means that my mental model is wrong. That's where all the real learning occurs. >=20 > (And if only one board is crashing in the first place, I'd be=20 > trying different batteries/dc power supplies, and metering=20 > every pin to it's adjacent pins looking for solder whiskers. =20 > As you aren't that interested in finding the fault, that's my=20 > final suggestion, best of luck :-) ) >=20 I will definitely investigate this one further, if for no other reason than to completely close out this discussion. Unfortunately, I am on travel right now, so my tools are pretty limited. :-) Alex -- http://www.piclist.com hint: PICList Posts must start with ONE topic: [PIC]:,[SX]:,[AVR]: ->uP ONLY!
