Oh absolutely. And btw, the smiley made all the difference - kicking

I'd still question item 3 in that excerpt Mike Singer posted.- why protect
a blown chip.  Is damage to MCLR a foot in the door for complete chip
failure that could affect port pins for example ? Academic I guess if the
initial damage is avoided
