Note that you have to wait at *least* one half period,
so the "closing" Triac has gone trough a zero-crossing
before turning the other Triac on. If not, you'll have
both turned on for a short time (aprox between 0 and 10 ms).

If both *can* be turned on at the same time, this might
not matter.

I'd go for the two-PIC-pin solution (using opto-triac-drivers,
of course).
