        It is short wave IR, not long wave (i.e. thermal) IR. The sensors in
digital cameras are VERY sensitive to IR, so much so that most colour
cameras have built in IR filters to prevent the incoming IR from messing up
the colour picture. If you take this filter out you get a cheap mans night
vision system. TTYL
