Sorry, I just had to say it!

So what you're saying is that even after you uninstalled and reinstalled
your CD-ROM drivers, you get the little "!"? Hmmm.... Are you sure the
drivers reinstalled properly? It's possible that you needed to have a
drivers disk (probably a floppy) in the drive when the reinstall took place.
You might also find some drivers on the internet and try reinstalling them.
