Thanks for your help and suggestions. I tried the following: remove emulator from target. Power up target. Run emulator until IO has been configured. Confirmed amplifier is putting out correct voltage. Confirmed that TRISA, ADCON0, ADCON1 are correct. Re-insert emulator. Re-checked amplifier. 5.6V :( As soon as I remove the emulator, the output voltage is again correct. It's mystifying why only ONE of the two amplifiers is causing this, or maybe it is just AN2? Both amplifiers use the same input signal. I will next cut the trace to AN2, and solder a wire to the unused AN4.
