This wouldn't > normally be a problem except that I always keep 'em way down My favourite pocket radio has miniature slides that were horribly noisy at the low volume end. Nothing I could do would stop that crackle and I just couldn't find pots like them so I reversed the connections. Noise gone, so far so good, but no fine volume control. To compensate for that I decided what would be the loudest volume I'd ever listen to it and added a series resistor to each slider to limit the volume to between 0 and that maximum. It effectively expanded the range of the pots so as to cover that reduced volume spread and control is better than it was before although of course the full volume potential of the radio is no longer available. But that was so loud it was never up that high anyway -- http://www.piclist.com hint: PICList Posts must start with ONE topic: [PIC]:,[SX]:,[AVR]: ->uP ONLY! [EE]:,[OT]: ->Other [BUY]:,[AD]: ->Ads
