Robert said the headphones are old and presumably the pot is mono. Transistor radio type thumbwheel volume pots are available as components. Not as common as shaft pots, but they're around. Or wait for the next stuffed tranny that comes along and strip it. Some large presets have similar wheel controls. For example many (old) TVs have them as trimmers.
