Hi all

I need to attenuate the signal from a HWPM to drive a speaker via a audio
amp. The signal is being feed through a digital pot first to control the
volume. I was thinking of using this circuit

                | dig pot
                    /
                \
                /  cntr tap
                ------------AMP input
                \
                /
                \
                /
                |
              grnd

Does this look right? and any idea what value r1 and dig pot I should be
using?


The dig pot is a AD4800 and the amp a LM4871
