Anyone in any way interested in looking at heavenly objects should take an
occasional look at Mars every now and then between now and August and be
sure to look closely on about August 27th.

Over this period Mars will grow several times in size and be larger than we
are liable to see it again in our lifetimes. Astronomers say that this is
the closest it has been in some 60,000 years (although it has been almost as
close 3 times in about the last 300 years).
