>anyway, one thing to note in all this. I have not actually created >anything - everything i did for this project was really the work of many >other people who have shared their stuff on the web. All i did was to >provide the glue that held all these piece parts together. Whenever you >have a problem for which you donot have the know-how, you can always find >someone on the web who has done it before. For me, the PICLIST web site >had lots of software for string to binary conversions, other sites had >sample circuits, other sites had primers on electronic components etc. This is the best lesson you can take away from all of this: almost everything has been done at least once. The world is full of circuits and designs that, once you start to understand them, can be modified slightly and then dropped, whole hog and with (somewhat) reliable results, right into your design. Whatever you do, DON'T look at a huge board and get overwhelmed and give up. Take it bit by bit, and for heaven's sake, ASK FOR HELP WHEN YOU NEED IT!
