Hi Andre, The same combination is working perfectly for me, what is your exact problem? As for your suggestion on using the datasheet alone, I was reading the datasheet before I physically had the component in hand. Actually, to be more precise, I ordered the component from the supplier based on the information I found in the datasheet. Before joining this mailing list I even emailed Microchip themselves concerning my problem since BOTH components, the PIC and the EEPROM was carrying their logo and I at least thought that they would be responsive. This was a week ago, and to date I have received NO communication from Microchip. If you dont know, as you so elequintly indicated, how to perform this procedure other than with the information that is in the datasheet then why comment and waste valuable bandwidth? I _have_ exausted every resource I know about before subjecting my problem to a mailing list. -----Original Message----- From: pic microcontroller discussion list [mailto:PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU]On Behalf Of Olin Lathrop Sent: Sunday, June 15, 2003 1:04 AM To: PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU Subject: Re: [PIC]: PIC16F877 and 24LC256 EEPROM > I am trying to hook a 24LC256 (32KByte) eeprom up with a 16f877 > processor, but after reading all the information I could obtain in the > form of application notes (very limited, as they all indicate > implementation of eeprom other than the 24lc256) and related > information on the internet I have still failed. What exactly is the problem? I have connected IIC and SPI EEPROMs to PICs several times. The data sheet should be your most important source of information, not app notes or other stuff found on the internet. That's all I ever used and never had a problem. > Is there anyone out there who has managed to communicate with a 24lc256 > from the pic in asm ? I don't know, is that an IIC or SPI EEPROM? ***************************************************************** Embed Inc, embedded system specialists in Littleton Massachusetts (978) 742-9014, http://www.embedinc.com -- http://www.piclist.com#nomail Going offline?
