What free tools are out there for the Windows platform? I'm interested in schematic capture, PCB design (with net list generation and gerbers), and visual simulation (virtual DMMs or scopes, etc.). -----Original Message----- From: pic microcontroller discussion list [mailto:PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU]On Behalf Of Mikey Sklar Sent: Wednesday, June 11, 2003 1:11 PM To: PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU Subject: Re: [EE]: schematic/PCB/autoroute packages On Wed, 11 Jun 2003, Bob Blick wrote: > The state of EDA is fairly depressing. As a beginner/hobbiest I must say that I'm thrilled not to have to pay anything and get a usable tool suite. I find the gEDA tools (gschem primarily in my case) and PCB worked very well for me on Linux or OS/X. Its wonderful to not have to compromise my OS preferences for another platform which I would prefer not to work on. I realize a **great deal of functionality** might be missing from these tools, but for me - I can work with them. I have source to see how the tools work.
