Lately, I've seen several questions that seem to occur over and over again
in  the Piclist (the one which caught my eye had to do with an I/O problem,
and the answer was that the pin comes up as analog and needs to be changed
to digital, but there have been other similar subjects).

There are some really excellent faqs for those who are just trying to find
out what it is all about.   For example, http://www.voti.nl/swp/index.html
comes readily to mind, as does the Piclist site
(http://piclist.com/techref/piclist/begin.htm).

But for the inexperienced (as opposed to beginning) PIC programmer/designer
there does not really seem to be a suitable faq.  I googled it and came up
with  the following:
