The problem of no keyboard with MPLAB 6.20 is of my own making. It was set up on a new machine and the files I was loading were on a CD from the other machine. In Edit/Properties/Editor there's a box for "Protect Read-Only Files" - when ticked there can be no editing done on files such as those from CDs. Unticking it allows full k/b use Just an unfortunate combination - Clean PC with none of my current asm files Unfamiliarity with a new MPLAB CD back-ups Today with a LAN set up I probably wouldn't have transferred the files via CD and not had a problem This reply from Microchip. The reference to 5.xx is wrt a previous k/b problem that I know several others on the list encountered ================================================== Joe, In MPLAB 6.2x there is a new option checkbox, Protect Read Only files. If you have this option checked and the file is read-only (as in copied from a CD and not manually marked NOT read-only), you will only be able to use the arrow keys I'd appreciate it if you could check on this and let me know. Thanks. BTW, MPLAB 6.xx is an entirely different code-base from MPLAB 5.xx, so this isn't a regression. :-) Best Regards, Joe Drzewiecki ================================================== -- http://www.piclist.com hint: To leave the PICList mailto:piclist-unsubscribe-request@mitvma.mit.edu
