It seems to track my other digital thermometers, so I guess +-1 degree F or better. My old one had the same features but without programmable hysteresis. At that price I couldn't resist. You can also set the minimum off time(that may only be on the cooling side). Every summer there are special "energy star" promotions in California, last year it was compact fluorescent lamps for $1.99, $2.49, and $2.99. I must have bought three dozen of them.
