It's a matterof Symantecs :-) (pun intended). I am well aware, having received a number of these that they all come "direct", but it is evident from the messages that PIClist members (amongst others) are involved and there is a very substantial chance of cross pollination due to the potentially large shared address list. WOULD ALL LIST MEMBERS PLEASE RUN THE DETECTION/REMOVAL TOOL THAT DENNIS HAS IDENTIFIED. IF EVERYONE DID THIS THEN THE LIST RELATED PART OF THE PROBLEM WOULD VANISH. > This is the link to download the removal tool. > http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/FixBugb.exe > I suggest all windows users run this tool and RTM on www.symantec.com > The tool does not repair exe files. The NAV does. > If the tool find some virus infections, it erases the archives: > Mostly IEXPLORE.EXE, MSIMNS.EXE, NOTEPAD.EXE, and whatever EXE you have in > memory. > You can replace them form the original disk. -- http://www.piclist.com hint: The list server can filter out subtopics (like ads or off topics) for you.
