Easier than some surface mount, but there plenty of non-DIP packages that are easy to work with too. > Second, I haven't worked with SMT before. The unit's I've seen aren't SMT, probably because they need a certain physical size anyway and most stand up so as to see parallel to the circuit board. These packages are easy to work with. > Anyway, looking around on Vishay, Infineon and Agilent, it doesn't seem > like I'm going to get any DIP packages, so SMT it is. Huh!? How does not using DIP force you to use SMT? This logic is, frankly, silly. This is like saying that just because you can't get chocolate ice cream, you have to make do with brussel sprouts. The Vishay units I gave you the part number for are not SMT, as can be seen immediately from the picture on the first page of the data sheet. I don't see what your problem is here. ***************************************************************** Embed Inc, embedded system specialists in Littleton Massachusetts (978) 742-9014, http://www.embedinc.com -- http://www.piclist.com hint: The list server can filter out subtopics (like ads or off topics) for you.
