Hi Andre, When I installed them pic18 went into c:\HTSOFT\PIC18 and pic16/17 installed to c:\HT-PIC no matter which version of pic16/17 I installed. I have two versions of pic16/17 installed. I didn't want to risk killing my current project so I renamed the HT-PIC directory HT787 and then installed version 8 of pic16/17. It made a new HT-PIC directory. Now if I want to use the old compiler I just rename HT-PIC to HT800 and rename HT787 to HT-PIC. No need to mess with the path this way. I don't know if the compiler will function properly if you move it even if you change the path statement. I tried that once and it complained, something about the copy protection they use. They've changed the copy protection several times so it may work on 7.83 or later. HiTech really does want the $$ to go to version 8, I had to pay also. But I see no reason why the earlier version overwrites pic18 on your system, you should be able to make it work. Sorry I have no experience with MPLAB 6.2 so I can't offer any advice about that.
