Thanks Tim, there are certainly some useful links there. I had the Microchip
app notes, and it looks like through at least 2 of the links I now have
electronic copies of the specification.

Anyone else looking should look at the can-cia links as a first hit, as
there is a lot of info there, and it looks like they are setting up
standards for message passing in areas like home automation.
