I recall I first start with the regression for calculating the slope (it is
simpler than the filter).

Sure!

If you want, instead of the sample number, if you multiply it by 0.01 and
divide by 4 (4 cells) you will get the per cell voltage aprox. I.e.:
590*0.01/4 = 1.475 volts.

Exactly must be: sample*(2.5/1023*99/25)/4 = volts_per_cell
