What exactly did you mean about the commas Larry?

I deciphered the spec as having each sentence beginning with $, then a 3
character identifier that describes the class of data contents, each
separated by commas. Finally an * denotes an optional checksum to follow at
the end of the sentence.

Do I read this correctly and did I simply miscommunicate it previously?
