Just between you and me (shhhh) I'm kind of hoping it won't get
as far as being asked to make a prototype. It would be really
great if what's proposed did actually work, but I can see a whole
mess of pain and wasted time in this project. That's why I asked
for info about what's likely to happen in practice - the person who
asked me to look into it has got all starry-eyed about what might
be possible in theory. As Sean has pointed out there are likely to
be thermodynamic considerations
