Yes, I second this recommendation. Don Lancaster wrote _many_ articles about
magic sine wave generation in his Radio Electronics "Hardware Hacker"
column.

Pretty much all you need are lookup table storage, a timer interrupt to
shift out the next bit and some filtering. Don Lancaster's web site is
www.tinaja.com and there are some free PDFs there on magic sine waves.
