Hi!

I recall Roman 2 or 3 transistor switching regulator. It was a very simple
but efficient desing made with very few discrete components.

I have a 14v (switching) power supply, but I sometimes only need 7v,
sometimes 10v, rated at 1200mA. Instead of loosing the difference in
voltage as heat, ?is there a very simple (switching?) circuit to do such a
down step conversion, or should I use a chip for that (i.e. LM2650, MAXxxx)
?
