I think your logic is wrong here. Should *I* have refused to go to the PDP-11 class 25 years ago, just becuse PDP-11's might not be used 25 years later ? Should *I* have refused to go to the VAX/VMS class 15 years ago, just becuse VAX's might not be used 15 years later ? Of course not ! (And I'm still consulting on VMS. b.t.w, and there are still some PDP-11's running in the process industry...) Learning PIC's isn't a decision for your life time.
