Can she login as administrator & restore to a previous state

(I.e. login under "safe" mode which brings up "administrator" as an
additional user - & with the "restore system to an earlier date" option)

I admit, I hate XP! win2000 in my opinion is the best.
but I have to help a friend and maybe someone knows the solution.
she lost the main owner/admin account in her XP home edition, now she see a
new user in other name and of course all of the files from the previous
login name are disappear. when she boot she can see the new account (the
empty one) but she can't see the previous. I didn't look at her computer
yet, so I cannot give you any details.
I will go there in 2 days to see the problem myself, but maybe someone who
have experience in that kind of problem can assist me.
