Mike, I use Corel for graphic design - manuals, datasheets, promotional literature. I am fairly experienced, but I find it difficult to be accurate and productive in Corel, although I can be "creative" and "artistic". I won't say it can't be done, but it wouldn't be my first choice, unless the only other choice was red and blue tape. Could anybody estimate the stupidity level of the idea of designing PCB with Corel? I have access to a computer with legal Corel 11, I messed with it a bit and what I've found: Corel - has layers; - can draw various elements, that could be grouped; - elements could be snapped to grid; - has VBA, you can store anything in a normal database (even SQL server), manipulate it as you need and then draw with Corel; If the idea with Corel happened to be workable, Corel could be changed to plain VB application with DirectX. Thanks in advance.
