some 20 years ago, I built one from a simple A/D and BDC27segment chip.  If
I recall, it was simply a diode temp sensor, etc.  (remember these from Pop
Electronics? Oil pressure, temp and voltage.  Had the only truck in high
school with a digital dash...sorta)

So....plenty of stuff out there on temp sensing....feeding as digital,
analog etc and then drive a display.

Search the piclist archives and glue it all together....can't get much
simpler than that!
