Don't know how this helps but my CD-RW only works the first two or three times I boot up. Then the computer stops recognising it (at all, even on the boot-up BIOS screen). If I go into Linux (I dual boot) then go back into Windows it works again... Very strange.. Perhaps Windows is changing something in the BIOS every time??
