Fry's was a local supermarket chain. They started stocking ready made cables and such for the geeks working through the night who need snacks and such. The electronics section grew. There is a great hands on sciences exhibit place called 'The Exploretorum'. It is in a park that has roman type buildings from a previous world exposition. The Palace of the Legion of Honor is the building in the Marina district of San Francisco. Great place for a kid to visit. Would recommend that while in San Francisco, take cabs and busses, leave any car parked.
