I don't know about San Francisco proper, but if you make your way south
toward San Jose there are at least three Fry's to choose
from--Sunnyvale, Cambell, and San Jose.

Also, Sunnyvale is home to a Ham Radio Outlet and Halted Supply Company
(surplus paradise).

Belmont is home to Jameco Electronics, which doesn't have a retail
display area per se, but they'll bring anything from their catalog out
to the lobby area for inspection before purchase.
